Is it possible to obtain a version with QAOP/M keyboard set?

PS: I'd need such a version to play the game on real hardware, not only emulator.

Keyboard controls are fully re-definable.

An official tape version of the game should be released shortly by Cronosoft.

Indeed - who needs colour, high-resolution graphics and sound when you have such a good game mechanic. Even good on a real ZX81

Yes, I fully intend to do more games for the '81 after enjoying writing VIRUS and getting such good feedback from it. I have been working on some tech-demos, but am currently converting the fourth Horace game from the Psion3 to the ZX Spectrum. After that I'll be returning to the '81, and hopefully a new game by the end of the year.
