ZX80 - abilities, progs, RAMs? Anything?

Postby yerzmyey on Wed Nov 25, 2009 3:42 pm

Yo.

Last times I spotted this thread viewtopic.php?f=7&t=235&p=1652#p1652 and again came to my mind (like it does once a year or so) - what actually ZX80 is?

What can it do?
Does it have the same zx-bus like ZX81?
Can be used 16K RAM-packs from ZX81 for ZX80?
How is it possible there are some games for it if it can't show any movement, theoretically?
What about its software? Actually I haven't seen much. Several progs, in fact.
And finally - if our forum is for "ZX80 / ZX81" users - then where are the second ones? ;) I mean any new progs and kinda 'developement' stuff.

Of course it's _highly_ impossible I could find it on our equivalent of ebay but still, if I would, then I would like to know there are some people doing _anything_ with the machine. ;)

Like I thought.

This machine is dead.

I have two ZX80's (one is UK model, the other is a US model) and I love them dearly. However I don't get to use them very often as the amount of software available is quite limited. However I do occasionally enjoy playing the no flicker space invaders game...a truely great piece of coding!
