Make Money, Fast and Other Internet Hoaxes

Earn Money Through Selling eBooksHey it's me - another internet millionaire, sitting here on the deck of my yacht typing onto my website via a satellite uplink as I cruise around the Bahamas, and yes, out of the goodness of my heart, having made my fortune through a few simple work from home schemes, I am willing to share the secrets of my wealth and success - just purchase my ebook for the special offer price of $49.99 (normally $149.99) and make all your dreams come true.

OK, so I don't have an ebook as all of my advice appears here on my website for free.  I am also not an internet millionaire willing to share my secrets (why else would I be bothering).  However, if you go searching the internet for get rich quick schemes, work from home businesses, MLMs and all the other ways of making money doing nothing, then you would think that is just what hundreds of people are willing to do to help you make money.

Instead, we offer down to earth, free and honest advice on the types of schemes to avoid and which sort of schemes can really pay dividends and be worth looking at. You do not need to join our mailing list, or pay a fee to access a directory of schemes, just feel free to browse our website.

Despite all of the publicity which seemed to suggest that to make money out of the internet, all you needed was a computer and a phone line, many schemes for making money have proved to be another form of pyramid selling, or mere con schemes where only the person who invented the scheme in the first place stands to make any money from it.  Generally, these schemes insist that you need to make an upfront payment in order to receive details of what these plans actually entail and in many cases, the information tells you to set up a website similar to the one which you have just signed up to and advertise it widely through spamming discussion boards, web forums and blogs.  Although many offer guaranteed refunds, you will generally find that you have breached the terms of this refund in some manner, or needed to buy a more expensive package in order for the fee to be refundable.

Are there really that many scams to avoid?

An internet sweep in 2004 by the Office of Fair Trading in the UK found 177 UK websites which were selling bogus money spinning schemes, including working from home offers, get rich quick cons, lottery scams and free prize draws.  In total, the survey covered 31 countries and found 1,847 sites with misleading claims - there were 234 breaches of consumer law in the UK alone. Since 2006, the internet has really blossomed, so we can just imagine that this figure is now in the 10s of 1000s.

Constant Contact helps you to set up and maintain valid email contact lists without upsetting your subscribersMany of the original schemes also involve sending out large email shots on a regular basis, handing over a list of your email contacts to a larger organisation and generally getting involved in what is known as spamming (sending out junk emails) - this is a fast way of losing your internet account as most ISP's (Internet Service Providers) will block any accounts which are seen to regularly spam people.  It is also a fast way of losing any customers you may have as people get infuriated by the increasing amount of unwanted emails hitting their inbox.  If you are determined to use this type of scheme, then you need to put in place a good system of tracking your email shots and allowing people to unsubscribe, as well as identifying which addresses are valid and which are false.  One program which allows you to do this with ease, is Roving Software's Constant Email Contact Program.

There Must be a Better Way to Make Money out of the Internet

If you are serious about making money through using the internet, and working from home, then there are (thankfully), plenty of different free  websites and programs which are there to help you, including the ability to join affiliate programs and add advertising to your website, which will pay you for referring people to the advertiser's website, competitions, shopping portals which pay you money or free shares (in a type of loyalty scheme) and even sites which can provide you with a whole host of contacts for freelance work.

To help sort out this mass of information for you, we have split our website into 13 different categories - some are more successful than others, but mainly depend on what you use the internet for and what interests you.  We have rated the various programs and also provided details of our own earnings where these are available.  The main advantage, is that apart from the second and third options, you do not need to have your own website to make money !!

However do not expect to become a millionaire overnight (or even to be able to give up the day job) and you might just make a success of working online.

We look at each of these possibilities in some detail, having tried them all ourselves and with any luck, this will help guide you towards the best schemes available..
