At
any given time, there are thousands of competitions being run throughout the
world, many of which allow entry via the internet. However, you must
remember that the easier a competition is (and the more widely advertised that
it is), the more people are likely to enter the competition.
Although
many competitions are run by reputable sites, it is important to watch out
for those sites which may have been set up just to collect email addresses
and may not actually pick a winner for each competition. You do have
to be aware, that when entering competitions on the internet, you are
always required to provide your email address and
will generally just be
adding your name to an email list somewhere, and thus increasing the amount
of spam which you receive.
You
should generally also be wary of any sites which require you to pay any
type of fee before entering a competition, unless the site is clearly
selling raffle tickets, in which case they have to specify how many
tickets are being sold and how many remain unsold, as well as the date of
the draw.
Another
major way of entering competitions (and earning other rewards), is by completing
the host of online surveys which are available - we have looked at these in some
detail and have written separately about which online
survey programs are worth joining.
You
can also consider joining a Lottery website, such as
Virtual
World Direct e-lottery syndicates
who build up syndicates of online players to enter various lottery
draws. Virtual
World Direct allows you to play in the twice weekly UK lotto draw and
the Euro Millions draw. You have to pay £5 per week to
receive a whopping 44 chances of winning in each draw. This seems to be a good system, with a high
chance of winning something each week, and the possibility of earning cash
back and other rewards for introducing friends and family as
players. With no restriction on withdrawing your money nor on how
long you have to be a member of the scheme, this seems worth a try.
You can also earn £1 in your account per week per person that you introduce -
this means that if you introduce 5 people, you will never have to pay for your
entries into the draws!!
Virtual
World Direct also offers a free chance of winning £1,000 in
each Lotto draw.
The
website is well laid out, with the
Virtual
World Direct website offering plenty of information on how the system works,
including various videos.

There are
plenty of good free competition sites
out there on the internet, and one of the newest entrants in the UK market,
has to be
ChooseAPrize
where you can choose what prize you would like to win (which can range from
a hamper, Playstation 2, widescreen TV or even a trip to Disneyland Paris).
There is a free
prize draw each month and the ability to gain more entries into the prize
draws. Everyone
has the chance to win BMW minis or
family holidays to Sydney
just by simply registering.
With the wide variety of competitions available on the
internet, we could not possibly hope to give you a list of sites to
visit.
However,
if you are
looking for a site which points you to the competitions which are available on
the internet, we would recommend both the
Free
UK Stuff website and the
UK Competitions
websites, which provide details of
where you can look on the internet for the best freebie offers and ongoing
competitions. Both are free to join, kept up to date on a regular basis
and allow members to leave
comments on each site.
It is easy to find what you are looking for and excellent search and sort
facilities help you to keep on top of the various competitions which exist.
A site which concentrates on competitions
to win supercars, ranging from Aston Martin DB9s to E type Jaguars is
Best of the Best which has been established for five years and has outlets
at London Heathrow Airport, London Gatwick Airport,, London Stansted Airport,
London Luton Airport, Manchester Airport, Glasgow Airport and Edinburgh Airport.
They claim to have given out over 90 amazing cars to their customers as
competition prizes. The idea is that they sell tickets for each
competition - you can assess the number of tickets remaining for each draw
before purchasing any as well as the number of tickets which are for sale - this
lets you assess your odds of winning very quickly. Each ticket allows you
to have a play at a good old fashioned "spot the ball" competition, once all
tickets are sold, the person closest to the ball wins the prize.
If
you fancy your luck a little more and are willing to stake some cash, you
may
also consider joining an on-line casino, such as
888Casino
ON Net
(read our
review).
If you are careful with these schemes and concentrate on only spending the bonus
you get for sign up you can play for free and even win a little without too much
trouble - just don't get addicted to the spin of the wheel !! Mind you, it
is interesting that the USA looks set to prevent casinos accepting payments
online - so it will be interesting to see how much longer these companies
continue to trade - in our view they are likely to increase the odds of winning
a prize in order to attract new custom.
If you
want to receive regular emails with details of hundreds of new
competitions to enter, you may like to sign up to
Marys
Winning Ways,
which tries to help you win as
many prizes as possible. This system will send an email once a week
with details of the latest competitions to enter and is a completely free
service.
Why not look for more Competitions using the ever popular Lycos Search Engine?
